CUTEC AutoCAD Workshop Sem 2 2007

Sorry for the long delay, but somehow everyone is occupied by something during the exam weeks and occupied by something more during the holidays. (^ ^)

First, Curtin University of Technology Engineering Club (CUTEC) wants to wish its members and readers “Happy New Year 2008”. Hope this year will be a great year and brings more prosperity and wisdom.
Year 2007 was a productive year for CUTEC. We organized several interesting activities including the Beach Outing, Miri Airport Technical visit, Welding workshop and many more. In September 29, 2007, CUTEC also organized an AutoCAD workshop. The objective for this workshop was to expose the participants on the design software, AutoCAD.
The speaker for the workshop was Mr Cheng Chin Fook, a lecturer. He shared his knowledge with 25 participants that consist of different courses. They learnt the fundamental of engineering design in both 2D and 3D. Before that, they have to understand the interfaces, buttons and its functions. Later on, they did a basic tutorial, which they made a design based on the coffee cup or mug they brought for the workshop. The workshop took around four to five hours.
Overall, this workshop went well despite the limited resources faced by CUTEC and Curtin Sarawak as well. The venue of the workshop, ME building, experienced power problem at that time and we postponed the workshop several times until we confirmed the exact date, September 29, 2007.
To Mr Cheng Chin Fook, it was a great opportunity to work with you. As for the participants, I appreciate for the positive comments and feedbacks I received on that day. Finally yet importantly, the CUTEC committee members who always supported and helping me through out the processes of running this workshop.
